Andouille gumbo @jazzfest

I followed the tradition and my first dish at the fair ground was the
andouille gumbo.

The first time I came to jazzfest, I was really impressed by this
version of gumbo and have it as my first dish every year. Last year, I
was actually disappointed. I had it several times in different days to
confirm, and something was definitely wrong.

This year, I’m happy to say it’s back to what it used to be: amazing.
The heavy broth, with the andouille and the pheasant meat, mixed with
white rice makes it the perfect opening act of foodfest!

Jazzfest 2009

Like every year, for now 4 years, I’m going to New Orleans for the first week-end of Jazzfest. Last year, we had huge amount of rain. This year, it’s supposed to be very warm.

I will blog about the festival, posting photos regularly and sharing the amazing meals we’ll be having.
